Clicker Heroes: Simple Outsiders Leveling Guide

Once you’re ready to transcend, you have five options for spending your Ancient souls: the Outsiders. Each of the five Outsiders – Xyliqil, Chor’gorloth, Phandoryss, Borb and Ponyboy – offer a unique enhancement that will help boost your progression. When leveled correctly, they will work together to boost you farther and farther into Clicker Heroes each time you transcend.

Your optimal Outsider levels will depend on your total amount of ancient souls. For a more detailed explanation of each Outsider, read on ahead. For a quick reference guide of how to spend your Ancient souls, use this Simulation Spreadsheet (if you have fewer than 40 ancient souls, start with 5 levels of Xyliqil and the rest allocated mostly in Ponyboy.)

Who Are The Outsiders and How Do I Level Them?

Xyliqil: Increases the power of the idle boosts gained from Libertas and Siyalatas. Each level of Xyliqil adds 100% more gold or DPS while idle, respectively.

How To Level Xyliqil: Level Xyl to 5, don’t go any higher until 100 AS.

Chor’gorloth: Makes your ancients cost less. Each level of Chor has a reduced benefit, and the cost per level increases every 10 levels.

How To Level Chor’gorloth: Spend roughly 1/10 of your ancient souls in Chor until you have 40 AS, then follow the simulation sheet.

Phandoryss: Increases your Transcendent Power, which gives you more hero souls from higher level bosses, exponentially. The higher the zone, the bigger the amount grows. Each level of Phan costs 1 more than the level before it.

How To Level Phandoryss: One or two levels will do until you have 40 AS, then follow the simulation sheet. The deeper into the game you are, the higher you’ll be leveling Phandoryss.

Borb: Increases your Transcendent Power hero soul reward cap. A boss reward is limited to 5% of your “sacrificed” HS – that is, HS that you earned before transcending. Borb increases this amount by 10% of your TP cap per level, allowing you to get potentially more hero souls later in the game. (The first level of Borb will raise your cap to 5.5%, not 15%.)

How To Level Borb: Borb is not needed until you are reaching zones where you are at the TP reward cap. Most likely, you won’t need Borb in an optimal build until you have over 100 AS.

Ponyboy: Increases the amount of hero souls gained from Solomon by 100% per level.

How To Level Ponyboy: Ponyboy is the most important Outsider to level early on after you get a couple of levels in Xyl. You will be spending the bulk of your Ancient Souls to level Ponyboy until getting him to about 25.

Simulation Sheet: If you have 40 or more ancient souls, you can follow the outsider leveling suggestions in this Simulation Spreadsheet.
